Should I leave my stingy boyfriend?

I have been dating my boyfriend on and off for the past 3 years and we are now in a committed relationship. It has only been 2 months. I've noticed that he is not romantic and is quite the tight wad. I go out of my way for him to make sure he is happy but don't quite get the same in return. I asked him for $30 for an auto inspection. He laughed it off and told me he needed help after getting his cars' fixed. His delivery really hurt my feelings. What should I do?
