How do you dance with a guy?

I have only be to one dance and that was homcomming freshman year, i just boped around in a circle with my close girl friends or didn't dance at all. Now my junior prom is comming up and I have never danced with a guy. Any tips? I don't think bopping in front of him will be too impresive...
