I want 2 better understand collie breeding & what color mixes of male & female produce what color puppies?

My mother bred dogs when i was younger and i have always wanted to do it my self. I am 100% in love with rough collies and even have one of my own right now! I plan to breed later on it the future but i want to do lots of research and learning before i just jump into it. I have a light sable female right now and she is only a puppy. I dont plan to breed anytime within the next 2 years but i am just wondering because i do plan on buying a male around christmas and he will be my first male so i want to know what would be best as far as color goes and what color puppies i will get out of him?
