As an American man, what can I expect of French women as a whole on my travels?

I'm an American living in France right now. I don't live in Paris (I've been there), but the big city doesn't really show you the characters of real French women. From what I've seen, most French women tend to keep to themselves, you won't happen to find a lot of them being very outgoing and "wild" like American women are. Hopefully you know some French coming here because I've noticed that, even if they can speak English, the French women will not attempt it. Overall, French women are not really my cup of tea; they don't come off as particularly friendly to me. Hopefully that is not the case for you!
