Fungal skin infection affecting ?

I went to the doctor and he gave me "lotriderm" cream for what he called a fungal skin infection. Basically these tiny red dry patches on my stomach. Though I noticed that In have them under my pubic hair as well. Wondering if that is common or something else? Thanks!
